Papyrus Musium

The Tannan area has also prospered as the home of Echizen washi. Its history dates back as far as 1,500 years ago, making it one of Japan’s leading washi production centers.

At the Papyrus Museum, visitors can learn about the history of Echizen washi and experience making washi. It is a great time to make your own original washi paper and create items such as uchiwa (Japanese fan).
